Purchase Accounting and Claims
Under the management of the Controller, will manage 8-10 member and expanding team, and be responsible for purchase accounting, including claims.
Key Responsibilities include:
Handling the entire accounting of purchases for the retail business including provisions, within specified deadlines with accurate reporting in MIS and audit;
Validation of all volume discount claims raised by the company on various vendors as per purchase agreements and schemes;
Leading the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from Finance team and ensuring that all the key system related changes are adequately enabled;
Work closely with the technology team to identify, change and implement the changes in system for ensuring robust modality;
Understanding the various stakeholders (Retail/Sales/Planning team) requirements and delivering the requisites on time with total focus on Business;
Driving the new ventures of business;
Accurate pricing of orders ensuring zero value leakage;
Preparation of Monthly P&L and Balance sheet for review with the Controllers;
Detailed variance analysis of Actuals Vs Forecast;
Ensure proper checks are in place to substantiate the accuracy of reporting numbers;
Responsible for timely closure of books for the month with a comprehensive approach of the Financials;
Ensure the accuracy of numbers with respect to accounting and analysis;
Cross functional approach to understand the pulse of business;
Strengthening the Balance sheet review process with more emphasis on aged items;
Perform costing run prior to book close to ensure the materials are valued correctly at standard price;
Building the compliance culture in the accounting mechanism;
Ensure sufficient documentation is in place so that process controls around accounting is healthy;
Facilitating the vendor management process;
Creation and maintenance of vendors in system thereby ensuring proper PO creation;
Ensuring robust documentation around the vendor creation mechanism to ensure compliance relating to local statutes;
Preparation of Financial Statements as per IGAAP in compliance with the local statutory laws;
Developed a robust system for accounting the changes in the transactions with the IGAAP perspective;
Synchronization of Audit Schedules with the Statutory Auditors for timely and efficient completion of Audits in line with statutory requirements;
Support tax team in complying with the audits and assessments under various Direct & Indirect Tax statutes;
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Manager: 5.5+ years of post-qualification accounting experience
Assistant Manager: 4+ years of post-qualification accounting experience
An understanding of IGAAP/IndAS
Proficient in MS Excel
Experience of Big4/industry in Manufacturing / Retail/ Trading/ Ecommerce companies etc.
Experience with handling large data / huge amount of inventory.
Goal oriented with excellent teamwork skills
Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision
Ability to build successful relationships with many different stakeholders
Salary: INR 14,00,000 - 22,50,000 P.A.
